For Polaroid SX-70 Original, SX-70 Sonar, and SLR 680 models.
► Restoration Service includes a full CLA to your camera, a new skin of your choice, and a full 1-year mechanical warranty.
Trained by original Polaroid staff technicians, we lead the camera department at the Impossible Project's camera department in NYC for years. We have both the skills and tools to expertly restore SX-70 and SLR 680 cameras of all stripes. Is your camera dead? Feeling sluggish? Is your light meter inaccurate? Your sonar autofocus nonfunctional? We can fix it! All cameras we service come with a full 1-year warranty.
We are capable of modifying any SX-70 cameras to shoot 600 film and that upgrade is available to you. If you’d like our technicians to modify your camera, you can add it on via the drop-down box option below. Here are some reasons why you may want to do so: SX-70 cameras use 100ASA film. This is a slow speed and, consequently, SX-70’s will often experience long shutter speeds in shady or dim environments which results in blurry photographs. 600ASA is significantly faster and you will find much more versatility in your ability to use your SX-70 in lower-light settings with the modification. Additionally, Polaroid 600 film is much more common than SX-70 film and can be found more readily. Please note that this modification requires the soldering of a new capacitor to your cameras motherboard and is a permanent modification; your SX-70 camera will only be capable of shooting 600 films after being modified. While this is a discernible upgrade with virtually no downside, we want to be clear about what this means for your camera! This upgrade is not available on SLR 680’s as they are already 600 cameras.
After placing an order for an SX-70 Restoration, mail your camera to us. The sooner we receive, it the sooner we can begin the work. Please remove any film from the camera, camera straps, and cases. Mail only your camera to us but please make sure it is adequately protected during shipping; we recommend 1” or thicker of bubble wrap and for the camera to be mailed in a box, not an envelope. Send it to us here:
