Frequently Asked Questions
Contact UsWe're working through our current queue and actively speeding up turnaround. We've temporarily paused new signups so we can give every camera in the pipeline the attention it deserves. We'll reopen as soon as we have capacity — keep an eye on our site and socials for the announcement.
Our standard turnaround is 3–4 weeks from when we receive your camera. Cameras requiring special parts or more extensive servicing may take longer. We do not offer rush service at this time.
We currently service folding SX-70 cameras only — including Model 1, Model 2, Alpha 1, Sonar models, and similar variants. We do not currently service 600 series, One Step, or box-style Polaroid cameras. We do not repair digital cameras.
No. If broken or failed parts are found when we receive your camera, we will contact you with a separate parts invoice before any replacement work proceeds. You can approve or decline individually.
Absolutely — mail it along with your camera (or separately, clearly labelled with your order reference) and our tech will fit it after the mechanical restoration is complete.
Due to the volume of cameras in our queue, direct technician communication isn't possible. For specific notes or questions about your camera, email us at sx70@brooklynfilmcamera.com and we'll make sure it's passed along.
We have a troubleshooting playlist on our YouTube channel: watch here. If you can't find a solution there, it almost certainly needs hands-on servicing.
Yes — but through our separate film camera repair service. See film camera repairs →
